Kayak Trips
A
new and exciting company, "Kayaktive", is now
based out of "The Old Bridge Backpackers".
Their products range from hourly kayak rentals and budget trips in the southern Okavango to fully inclusive kayak expeditions throughout the Okavango delta that are backed up by supply boats if need be.
Hourly kayak rentals:
P60-00/hour/kayak
+ P30-00/hour for your guide (a guide may
take up to 5 guests at one time).
Fully equipped and catered 1 night budget southern Okavango kayak trips:
Includes:
1 hour motorboat ride to and from "The buffalo fence".
1 supply mokoro and poler for every 2 guests.
All camping equipment.
All meals and drinking water.
Guided morning and evening game walks.
Community camping fees.
Typical itinerary:
Day 1 : Depart from "The Old Bridge Backpackers" at 9am for a 1 hour motorboat ride to the community run mokoro station on the edge of the Okavango delta. Depart from the mokoro station in your kayaks accompanied by your supply mokoros.
Set up camp on an island and partake of a light lunch.
After a short rest explore the waterways for an hour then return to camp for a 2 hour guided evening game walk.
Return after sunset for a dinner cooked over your campfire.
Day 2 : Wake early have coffee/tea and depart on a 3 hour game walk after which you arrive back to a full cooked breakfast.
Pack up camp and spend the rest of the day exploring waterways and floodplains, stopping on an island for a light lunch.
Arrive back at the mokoro station at 4pm for your motorboat ride back to "The Old Bridge Backpackers".
Price: P1750-00/person (minimum 2 persons).

These expeditions are tailor-made on request. Please let us know the size of the group interested, the number of days you would like to go for and any areas of interest. We will then design your package for you.
These
range from 3 day expeditions to 10 day "trans-okavango" expeditions
that will take you from near the Namibian border down to Maun at the
southern end of the delta.
